Battery Specifications

MediFlow Systems required a custom battery solution meeting the following specifications:

  • Dimension: Maximum 100mm x 60mm x 30mm to maintain device compactness
  • Weight: Not exceeding 200g to ensure pump portability
  • Voltage: 7.4V nominal (2S configuration)
  • Capacity: Minimum 3000mAh, with a target of 4000mAh for extended operation time
  • Discharge Rating: Continuous discharge rate of 1A, with peak capability of 2A for 30 seconds to handle bolus deliveries
  • Chemistry: Lithium Polymer (LiPo) for high energy density and form factor flexibility
  • BMS (Battery Management System):Advanced cell balancing with individual cell monitoring
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for remote diagnostics and monitoring
  • Adaptive power management based on infusion rates and pump settings
  • Redundant safety systems with fail-safe operation modes
  • Certifications: IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-24 for infusion pumps, IP54 rating for dust and water resistance
